Re: Do you accept texts in Vietnamese Chu Nom here?

Yes, if Nôm texts don't belong at the Chinese Wikisource, then the Vietnamese Wikisource is definitely the right place for it. (Someday maybe there will be a separate Nôm Wikisource – that'd be cool.) There are issues with the content at "金雲翹傳 (阮攸)" – it's only the first 48 lines and it contains many private use characters. But it's a good start. Thanks for the heads-up. – Nguyễn Xuân Minh (thảo luận, đóng góp) 06:24, ngày 3 tháng 10 năm 2012 (UTC)Trả lời

Thanks, I'll fix it up when I get a chance. The case with Vietnamese and Nôm is a bit different than with the various Chinese character forms. A converter isn't possible, because there's a many-to-many correspondence between Nôm characters and Vietnamese words. An roughly analogous situation would be contributing a poem written in Pinyin to the Chinese Wikisource (and assume that for some reason it was originally written that way). But at least Pinyin is standardized, so imagine that this one poem was actually a mix of Pinyin, Wade-Giles, Jyutping, and Pe̍h-ōe-jī. Nevertheless, I don't think a split makes any sense right now, because this wiki has so few Nôm works and so few Nôm specialists help out with the Vietnamese wikis. – Nguyễn Xuân Minh (thảo luận, đóng góp) 17:48, ngày 3 tháng 10 năm 2012 (UTC)Trả lời
